San Mateo, CA – The San Mateo County Event Center is proud to announce its continued partnership with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley to host a food distribution site for families in need in San Mateo County. The ongoing collaboration between the two organizations aims to address the increasing challenges faced by families experiencing food insecurity.
Since its establishment in 1974, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley has been a leading force in the fight against hunger in the local community, providing nutritionally balanced meals free of charge to those in need, regardless of background. The organization’s commitment to serving the community has been especially vital during these challenging times, with a significant rise in the number of families seeking food assistance.
“The San Mateo Event Center is dedicated to serving the people of San Mateo County, and our partnership with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is a testament to that commitment,” said Dana Stoehr, CEO of the San Mateo County Fair and Event Center. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Second Harvest to provide essential support to our neighbors in need.”
The Second Harvest Food Distribution is located in the East Parking lot of the San Mateo Event Center (1346 Saratoga Dr, San Mateo – Gate 9 and 10) every Thursday from 8:30 am to 10:45 am, and is open to anyone in need of assistance.
In addition to the food distribution event, the San Mateo Event Center is involved in various other community initiatives, including the Samaritan House Holiday Gift Drive and more.
