Beginning November 15th through April 15th, the County of San Mateo initiates the Inclement Weather Emergency Shelter Program for unsheltered individuals and families. This program activates on nights when cold weather and/or high probability of rain or a significant weather system are forecast for San Mateo County.
San Mateo County residents in need of shelter should visit their local Core Service Agency in order to seek access to the Inclement Weather Program or other shelter programs. The Core Service Agency then connects eligible residents to the San Mateo County Coordinated Entry System (CES), which makes referrals to IWP on days when inclement weather is activated. CES is available Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, except for holidays.
