SAN MATEO – As one of the Peninsula’s largest non-profit organizations, the San Mateo Event Center & Fair has always been committed to providing meaningful, educational fun for our kids and we are thrilled to bring back several educational programs to this year’s fair.
Since 2017, the San Mateo Event Center & Fair is proud to have given out over 140,000 admission tickets to San Mateo County elementary school students through its “Tickets to the Fair” program.
“Our wish is for kids in our community to have the opportunity to experience this great county tradition and be inspired,” said Justin Aquino, Fair Manager, “That is why the Fair will provide every elementary school student from kindergarten to 5th Grade in San Mateo County a FREE admission ticket to the Fair!”
Additionally, the San Mateo Event Center & Fair offers free school tours so kids can get a behind the scenes view of the Fair. We also provide school buses for transportation at no additional cost to schools. In the past, schools from Daly City, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, Redwood City, and San Mateo have visited and experienced numerous exhibits including the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum.
To make this program a success, the San Mateo Event Center & Fair asks that principals in every school district in San Mateo County sign up on behalf of their school and students. Parents, be sure to contact your child’s elementary school to encourage administrators to sign up for the program.
The Fair also offers a reading program for any child in the 8th grade and below. This program is available in partnership with Butler Amusements – carnival rides provider – and will award 2 FREE carnival rides for participating students! Information about the program is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
