Enjoying your time at the San Mateo County Event Center is all about making sure you have everything to make your stay comfortable, carefree, and relaxed. Below are some helpful guidelines for things allowed, prohibited, and things our grounds offer.

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Glass containers of any kind (bottles, cups, cans or glass)
  • Ice chests or coolers
  • Weapons (guns, stun guns, mace, pepper spray, knives, etc.)
  • Toy guns, water pistols, or imitation weapons
  • Skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, scooters, bicycles, or unicycles
  • Lawn chairs
  • Open fires fueled by charcoal, wood, or other combustible materials of any kind
  • Portable generators
  • Disruptive music or noise
  • Promotional or marketing activities
  • Sale of products, food, or beverages
  • Occupying more than two parking spaces, unless you purchase an additional Tailgating permit
  • Saving a parking space for someone else
  • Obstructing adjacent parking spaces and drive aisles
  • Staking of tents/ or attaching any items to barricades (i.e. tents and banners)
  • Outside food items are not allowed to be brought into the fenced area of the campus or into buildings
  • No propane

Smoking and Vaping Policy

The San Mateo County Event Center is smoke, vape and tobacco free to provide a healthy, family-friendly, and clean environment for visitors and staff. No smoking and vaping is allowed inside the grounds. Designated smoking and vaping locations are provided, outside the fence line.

Service Animals

Under federal law, “service animals” are dogs or miniature horses trained to work or perform tasks for the benefit of people with physical or mental disabilities. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the handlers disability. Dogs, pets and other animals, trained or untrained, whose sole function is to provide comfort, companionship or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the law and are not permitted.
