Mayor Robert Newsom Jr. Proclaims Official City Support and Partnership with the San Mateo County Fair
San Mateo, CA – June 16, 2025 – In recognition of its cultural, economic, and community value, the City of San Mateo has officially proclaimed May 30 through June 8, 2025, as San Mateo County Fair Week. The proclamation was presented by Mayor Robert Newsom Jr., on behalf of the San Mateo City Council, in support of the fair’s enduring mission to foster a thriving and connected community.
The San Mateo County Fair is a beloved annual tradition that brings joy, entertainment, and a sense of unity to residents across the region. The fair provides a dynamic platform for celebrating local agriculture, makers, talent, and innovation – drawing more than 100,000 visitors each year. Through its diverse programming, the fair offers fun for all ages while simultaneously supporting local businesses and contributing significantly to the economic vitality of both the City and County of San Mateo.
In the official proclamation, the City of San Mateo commends the fair’s ongoing positive impact and pledges to:
- Promote the fair through city-led public awareness campaigns and outreach efforts.
- Encourage residents and local businesses to participate in and support fair activities.
- Explore opportunities for collaborative partnerships – including potential financial contributions or resource sharing – to further enhance the fair’s success.

This year’s fair was held from May 30 to June 8, 2025, at the San Mateo County Event Center, and featured exciting entertainment, family-friendly attractions, live music, agricultural exhibits, contests, and much more.
